Privacy Policy

HagaLog is a professional record-keeping app for commercial divers. HagaLog and this website are developed and operated by Flying Fish Digital, LLC (“Flying Fish Digital,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains the information HagaLog handles, when information leaves your device, the service providers involved, and how to contact us about privacy or deletion requests.

Information you enter into the app

HagaLog may store dive log entries, supervisor log book records, certification information, scanned documents, ID-verified supervisor stamp details, milestones, settings, backups, archive files, readable exports, and PDF packages that you create or import. This information is intended to be stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, back up, print, share, or otherwise move it outside the app.

Local-first storage

Core HagaLog records are designed to remain on your device in local app storage. Flying Fish Digital does not sell your dive records, certification records, scanned documents, or personal information. HagaLog does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

Depending on the feature you use, information handled by HagaLog may correspond to store disclosure categories such as personal information (including name, email address, and account or user identifiers), photos, files and documents, health-related information entered in professional records, app interactions and other user-provided content, purchase history, crash logs and diagnostics, and device or other identifiers. Local professional records are not automatically uploaded merely because they fall within one of these categories. Information leaves the device only through the account, Stamp Registry, purchase, diagnostics, support, or user-directed export and sharing flows described below.

Permissions

The app may request permissions that support its features, such as camera access for scanning documents, file access for importing or exporting records, notifications for certification reminders, and device authentication for protecting sensitive stamp-management workflows. Permission use is tied to app functionality.

Exports, backups, and sharing

If you export, print, share, email, upload, or back up records outside the app, that action may send your information to the destination you choose. Those destinations are controlled by you and may be governed by their own privacy terms.

Purchases

Paid HagaLog modules are processed through the store for your platform, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store, with RevenueCat used to manage product availability and purchase entitlements. These providers may process an app/store user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase history, entitlement status, country/storefront, and technical information needed to complete or restore a purchase. Flying Fish Digital does not receive your full payment-card number from Google, Apple, or RevenueCat.

Supervisor Account and Stamp Registry

If you create or use a Supervisor Account, HagaLog may send account and stamp information to the HagaLog Stamp Registry. This may include your name, email address, company name and location, credential or certification information, stamp profile settings, account and verification status, and technical records needed for login, security, support, PIN management, stamp rendering, and stamp lookup. Supervisor session tokens are treated as sensitive authentication data.

Identity verification

If you choose to start identity verification for a supervisor stamp, the verification flow is provided by Stripe Identity. Depending on the verification method, Stripe may collect identity-document images, a facial image or selfie, legal name, date of birth, address, document details, device and network information, and verification results under Stripe's privacy terms. Flying Fish Digital receives the verification-session status and information needed to review the identity/name match and activate or administer the supervisor profile; HagaLog does not receive your full payment-card number through this identity flow. HagaLog currently absorbs the identity-check cost and does not sell it as an app module.

Crash reports and diagnostics

Production versions of HagaLog use Sentry for automatic crash reporting and diagnostics. When an error occurs, Sentry may receive crash logs, error messages, stack traces, app version and build information, device platform and operating-system information, timestamps, and limited breadcrumbs describing app operations leading to the error. Performance tracing is disabled in the current configuration.

HagaLog is designed to redact sensitive keys and common personal identifiers before diagnostic events are sent. We do not intentionally include dive-log content, certification documents, scanned files, signatures, stamp images, PINs, session tokens, passwords, API keys, or payment-card details in Sentry reports. No filter can guarantee that unexpected error text will never contain information a user entered, so please do not place sensitive records or credentials in support notes or error descriptions.

Support requests

If you contact support, we may receive your email address, message, and any diagnostic report or attachment you choose to send. Do not send sensitive dive records, identity documents, PINs, session tokens, passwords, payment information, or confidential employer information unless support specifically requests a limited item and you are comfortable sharing it.

Service providers and disclosures

We disclose information only as needed to operate HagaLog, fulfill user-requested actions, protect the service, or comply with law. Providers may include Google Play and Apple for app distribution and purchases, RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management, Sentry for crash reporting, Stripe Identity for optional identity verification, and hosting, database, and email providers used by the HagaLog Stamp Registry and support systems. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. User-directed exports, backups, printing, and sharing go to the destination selected by the user.

Data retention and security

Local records remain on your device until you delete them, remove the app, or manage copies in destinations you selected. Account, Stamp Registry, identity-verification status, purchase-entitlement, support, security, and diagnostic records are retained only as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and audit history, resolve disputes, satisfy legal obligations, and process deletion requests. Retention can vary by record type and by a service provider's legal obligations.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network transport and protected session-token storage where supported. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Account and data deletion requests

To request deletion of a HagaLog account, Supervisor Account, stamp profile, support request, or related personal information handled by Flying Fish Digital, email support@hagalog.com with the subject line “HagaLog data deletion request.” Please include the email address associated with the request so we can locate the relevant record. We may need to verify your identity before deleting server-held account or registry information.

Most dive logs, certifications, scans, exports, archives, and backups are stored locally on your device or in destinations you choose. You can delete local app data by deleting records in the app where available, removing exported files/backups from the places you saved them, or uninstalling the app from your device.

Deletion may not remove records that we or a service provider must retain for fraud prevention, security, transaction records, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims. When retention is required, access is limited to the applicable purpose.

Children's privacy

HagaLog is intended for working professionals and is not directed to children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as HagaLog changes. The effective date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect.
